Opposition shells government forces’ positions in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the armed opposition groups shelled sites of the Syrian government forces on the contact lines in the eastern countryside of Idlib, northeast Syria.

A local source told North Press that the groups of al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Jaysh al-Izza, and the National Front for Liberation which are affiliated with the Syrian National Army (SNA), bombed government forces’ sites south of Idlib.

The heavy artillery shelling and Grad rockets targeted the town of Dadikh in the southeastern countryside of Idlib, according to the source.

The source added that the targeting resulted in direct casualties among the government forces.

The Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups continue to violate the ceasefire agreement, which has entered its second year within the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria.
