Relative calm in Syria’s Ain Issa after Turkish shelling

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – The town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, northern Syria, is witnessing uneasy calm after an infiltration attempt and shelling last night.

“The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) responded to an infiltration attempt by the Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition groups in the village of Jadida, east Ain Issa,” military source told North Press.

“Turkish drones flew over the area following the failure of the operation by the SDF,” the source added.

The artillery shelling affected the villages of Sayda, Jadida, Ain Issa silos and M4 Highway, northeast the town, according to the source.

In the same context, two Russian military convoys consisted of seven armored vehicles, set out from its base in Tal al-Samen, north of Raqqa, and headed to Ain Issa.

Ain Issa town is shelled by the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups every now and then that leads to casualties among civilians.
