New coronavirus cases in Syria’s opposition-held areas

IDLIB, Syria (North Press)-On Friday, the Syrian Interim Government of the Opposition Coalition announced the record of 22 new cases of coronavirus that were recorded on Thursday in northwest Syria.

On its official account on the Internet, the Interim Government said that it recorded 22 cases of the virus, and one new case of recovery.

It indicated that it had conducted tests for 859 suspected cases in Idlib and Aleppo regions.

With the newly announced figures, the total number of infections in the opposition-controlled areas has risen to 21,458, including 638 deaths and 19,569 recoveries.

On Wednesday, the northwestern regions of Syria recorded 17 cases of coronavirus, and three recoveries, without announcing new deaths of the virus.
