Awareness campaign on coronavirus in Syria’s Tel Tamr
TEL-TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Health Directorate of the Autonomous Administration, in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent, started an awareness campaign to prevent coronavirus in the town of Tel Tamr, northeast Syria.
The health educators toured the markets and neighborhoods of the town, met with local residents, and provided health instructions to limit the spread of the virus.
The campaign included the distribution of brochures and protective equipment such as face masks and gloves.
Rima Rasoul, member of the Health Directorate, told North Press that their awareness campaign came after the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the region.
She indicated that awareness is an essential task to limit the spread of the virus.
According to Health Board statistics, there are two cases of coronavirus in Tel Tamr, which is attacked by the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups from time to time.
On the second day of the partial curfew in the town, the markets witnessed heavy move amid an almost complete absence of adherence to the means of protection and physical distancing.
On April 6, the total lockdown began in the cities of Qamishli, Hasakah and Raqqa, and it will continue for a week, while other areas in northeast Syria are witnessing a partial curfew.
Earlier today, The AANES Health Board announced the recording of 241 new coronavirus infections in the regions of northeast Syria.
