Israeli army conducted several secret operations in Syria: source to North Press

RAMALLAH, Palestine (North Press) –  A military source residing in Israel told North Press that what Israel Today revealed about a special operation by the Israeli Army in the Syrian Golan in July is not the first of its kind, but is part of dozens of special operations.

In a report that was allowed to be published, the Israeli journal mentioned that the Israeli Army damaged a post of the Syrian Army used by Hezbollah during the special operation.

“The special operations carried out by a special intelligence unit to carry out these tasks over the past years have varied, including planting spy and monitoring devices, assassinations, bombing of military sites, and kidnapping wanted persons, especially from jihadist groups,” the source told North Press.

“This Israeli special unit carries out secret field tasks in Syria, the Gaza Strip, and other countries, as it is highly trained,” he stated.

He pointed out, “The motive behind uncovering the operation, which was carried out in the Golan a few months ago, is to press the American administration to pay attention to Hezbollah’s activities and the rest of Iran’s arms in the region in any possible negotiations regarding the return to the nuclear agreement.”

The source added that publishing such a report is an Israeli threat to Iran, Hezbollah, and also Syria that the Israeli Army is ready to invade Syrian territory to thwart and foil any activities of this kind.
