HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A health official in the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria, said that the number of coronavirus infections has increased for a month, and imposing a partial curfew is possible.
“The high number of the infections began at the beginning of March, two months after the request for testing swabs decreased,” Amed Hesso, official in charge of Covid-19 Emergency Teams in Hasakah, said.
“The number of swabs that are tested in the city of Hasakah ranges between 100 and 150 swabs daily,” Hesso added.
In March, the city of Hasakah recorded 300 new coronavirus infections and 20 deaths, according to the medical teams.
Hesso indicated that preventative measures such as wearing face masks have become necessary, and that thinking about a partial curfew during the coming period is possible.
The number of the people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 10,179 confirmed cases, including 382 deaths and 1,318 recoveries.
