Syria’s AANES records 4 deaths, 120 coronavirus infections in its regions

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 120 new coronavirus infections and 4 deaths in northeast Syria. 

AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths are two women and a man from Hasakah, and a woman from Qamishli.

The recorded infections were 32 in Qamishli, 32 in Hasakah, 12 in Raqqa, 14 in Tabqa, and 10 in Deir ez-Zor.

The rest of the infections were in Derbasiya, Rumailan, Jil Agha, Kobani and Manbij. 

Meanwhile, the AANES Health Board recorded 11 new recoveries.

With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 10,179 confirmed cases, including 382 deaths and 1,318 recoveries.  

Recently, the AANES-held areas have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections.
