Terrorist cells target AANES officials: SDF

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) issued a statement on the second anniversary of eliminating ISIS from its last stronghold in the town of Baghouz, eastern Syria. 

In its statement, the SDF confirmed the continuation of struggling and fighting the hotbeds of terrorism “to protect our people.”

“We will face all the threats pose on our struggle, and we will work hard for reconstructing our liberated areas,” the statement said.

“We confirm to the public opinion that there are sleeper cells threatening peace and stability in northeast Syria,” the SDF added.

The statement pointed out that these terrorist cells do not only target infrastructure, but also the expertise and officials of the Autonomous Administration and local leaders.

“We look forward for more support from the Global Coalition to achieve the constant stability in the region,” the statement concluded.

On March 23, 2019, the SDF announced its control over ISIS last stronghold, Baghouz town in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
