US forces patrol northeast Syria’s Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, US forces conducted a military patrol in the countryside of Derik, in Syria’s northeast.

Local sources stated that the patrol, consisting of four military vehicles with no air cover, roamed the oil-rich southern countryside of Derik.

The sources added that the patrol headed towards the Semalka border crossing with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG).

On Monday, US forces conducted a patrol in Derik’s southwestern countryside, stopping at an agricultural airstrip near the village of Rubaria, which the Global Coalition uses as a helipad.

Last Saturday, US forces conducted two separate patrols in the countrysides of Derik and Rimelan.
