Turkey curbs establishing international court for ISIS: military leader in Syria’s Kobani

Kobani, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, Kobani Military Council’s co-head,Ismat Sheikh Hassan, said that Turkey stands behind holding an international court to try militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) in prisons of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).  

There are thousands of ISIS militants of more than 60 nationalities in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) prisons, according to AANES data.

In a special statement to North Press, Sheikh Hassan said, “Turkey was and is still supporting ISIS.”

Sheikh Hassan pointed out to the necessity of holding an international court in Kobani “that supported the people of the whole world.”

“ISIS practices are increasing on a daily basis, especially in Deir ez-Zor, and it is still forming a risk,” he added.

He stated that holding an international court “will have positive results internationally, as the whole world will realize how ISIS was defeated in northeast Syria.”
