SDF repels attack by Turkish-backed groups in Syria’s Ain Issa

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that it had responded to an attack by the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups on the villages of Ain Issa and Tel Abyad, northern Syria.

The SDF Media Center issued a written statement, which was shared with North Press, stating that the attacks focused in particular, on the villages of al-Hurriya, Hoshan, Khalidiya and the M4 Highway.

The village of al-Hurriya is located 15 km west of Tel Abyad, while Khalidiya and Hoshan are about 7 km west of Ain Issa.

The SDF said that its fighters repelled the attacks within the framework of legitimate defense, and clashes broke out on the Hoshan and Khalidiya lines.

Three members of the armed opposition groups were killed and 7 others wounded, according to the SDF Media Center.

The statement pointed out that the bombing is still continuing on the area.

Earlier today, the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups shelled Hoshan and Jahbal villages in addition to M4 Highway.
