Wounded due to clashes between opposition groups in Syria’s Sere Kaniye
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, five civilians were wounded due to clashes between two Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the Turkish-controlled city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeast Syria.
Local activists stated on social media that “five civilians were injured, where the condition of one is critical, due to clashes broke out between two groups of Sultan Murad as a result of a dispute over a house in the city.”
“Heavy and light weapons were used during the clashes,” the activists added.
Since its control by Turkey and the affiliated armed groups in October 2019, Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) has witnessed security chaos and internal fighting among the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, accompanied by consecutive bombings, continued arrests, kidnappings of civilians, and the seizure of residents’ property.
