DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, US forces conducted the second patrol in one day in the Derik region in the far northeast corner of Syria.
The second patrol left the city of Derik, heading towards Rubaria airport, which is used by the Global Coalition as a helipad, in the city’s southern countryside.
The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles with no air cover.
This patrol, launched at around 6 PM, came just five hours after another patrol in the eastern countryside of Derik, which headed towards the Semalka border crossing with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
US forces conduct almost daily patrols in the Derik area, particularly in the oil-rich regions.
