Russian forces conduct patrol in northeast Syria’s Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – Russian forces conducted a patrol in the countryside of Derik in northeast Syria on Wednesday.

“A Russian patrol reached the village of Sarmesakh Tahtani, west of Derik, in the afternoon and headed to the villages north of Derik,” a local source from the village told North Press.

After roaming in the villages of Ain Diwar and Kardamiyah, north of Derik, the patrol went back to its base in Qamishli, according to the source.

The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles accompanied by two helicopters, local sources said.

On January 25, the Russian forces conducted a patrol of six armored vehicles in the village of Kardamiya, north of Derik.
