SDC plans to hold conference with all Syrian opposition forces

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Ilham Ahmed, the chair of the Executive Board of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), said on Sunday that they are planning to hold a national conference for all Syrian opposition forces this year.

She added that they are in contact with all political forces inside Syria and various opposition forces outside Syria.

Ahmed made a statement to the media of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) while attending the second annual meeting of the Women’s Coordinator of Administration, which was held in the city of Raqqa.

Ahmed also addressed the women of North and East Syria, and said that the whole world admires the extent of women’s participation in political life and the various work they do within the institutions and committees of the AANES.

Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Official Sihanouk Dibo, told North Press last week that they would announce within “a few days” the signing of a new memorandum of understanding with a Syrian opposition party.

In August 2020, the SDC signed a memorandum of understanding in Moscow, with the Popular Will Party led by Qadri Jamil, the party’s secretary.

The memorandum contained articles related to the political roadmap to solve the Syrian crisis in accordance with UN Resolution (2254) and the drafting of the Syrian constitution.

In the current year, they aim to conduct a joint project with the Syrian opposition and with all parties of the Syrian solution without revealing other details, Ahmed said.
