Outcomes to be revealed after investigating corruption cases-AANES
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A major official in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said that the general monitoring apparatus was investigating several corruption cases, and the results would be transparently revealed to the public opinion after finishing with investigating.
AANES Executive Council co-chair Abd Hamed al-Mehbash added that they provided all necessary instructions and support to follow the issue of fighting corruption in northeast Syria.
“Neither the official nor the simplest employee will be excluded, we will hold the corrupts accountable, and the law will take its course in this case,” al-Mehbash responded to the news regarding arresting several officials of the administration under accusations related to corruption.
These efforts followed the National Conference for the People of Jazira and Euphrates that was held by Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) on November 25.
The conference stressed the necessity to fight against corruption and activate a central monitoring and inspection apparatus in the AANES’ institutions.
Executive Council co-chair did not reveal the detainees number and just said “These are investigating cases that we cannot reveal right now.”
SDC official website announced the referring of more than 100 people to investigations in late December.
“Those who were guilty of corruption, abuse of influence and manipulation of public funds were transferred to special courts,” the site mentioned.
