HTS and Ansar al-Tawhid members wounded in Syria’s Idlib and Latakia
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Syrian government forces targeted sites of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Ansar al-Tawhid opposition groups in Idlib and Latakia with artillery and missile strikes, killing and wounding militants of these groups on Thursday.
A militant from HTS and another from Ansar al-Tawhid were killed, and others were wounded, in a government shelling to their sites in al-Fatira town south of Idlib, according to local sources.
The government forces intensified their bombing on Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, on Thursday.
In Latakia countryside, an HTS militant was killed in a similar bombardment by the Syrian government forces in Turkmen Mountain in the north of Latakia.
Syrian government forces targeted the sites of the groups in the villages of Qarra Jai, Shamrawan, and Qalat Shanbar in the northern countryside of Latakia, with dozens of artillery and missile shells from their locations in Jabal al-Akrad.
The bombing coincided with intense flight of Russian Air Force drones within the airspace of Idlib, Hama and Latakia provinces.
The de-escalation zone has been recently witnessing military build-up and mutual shelling between government forces and opposition groups in Idlib, Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia.
