IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) opened fire on protesters who went out in a demonstration against the group in the city center of Idlib, northwest Syria on Friday.
During the anti-HTS demonstration, protesters called for accountability for HTS, who killed two young men at a checkpoint west of the city, a local source told North Press.
HTS militants killed two young men from Idlib on November 9 after they refused to stop at a checkpoint west Idlib.
HTS Security members opened fire on the protesters in order to disperse the demonstration, which turned into a clash between HTS militants and the protesters, causing civilian wounded.
HTS-held areas in Idlib have been witnessing security chaos and assassinations killing dozens of civilians there.
