Child wounded in IED explosion in Syria’s Azaz

AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – A militant from the Turkish-backed Syrian armed opposition groups and his child and were seriously wounded when an IED planted in his car exploded.

Levant Front member Abu Khalid al-Homsi and his child were critically injured in the explosion, which occurred in Soran city center south of Syria’s Azaz. They were transferred to the city’s hospital, a local source told North Press.

Another IED exploded on Tuesday near Ali Bin Abu Taleb mosque in Azaz city; damages were limited to material losses only.

On the 18th of December, a member of the Levant Front and a civilian were wounded in an IED explosion, when a device planted in an opposition leader’s vehicle in Afrin’s Ma’batli district exploded.

Azaz has been under the control of the armed opposition groups since July 2020.

The areas held by the armed opposition groups have recently witnessed a series of successive bombings amid the inability of Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian groups to control security in the area.
