RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – the Monitoring Committee in the National Conference urges the Municipality of Raqqa, northern Syria, to implement the outputs of the conference seriously.
Lorens al-Borsan, a member of the Monitoring Committee and representative of Raqqa told North Press that they met, on Saturday, with members and the co-chairs of the Municipality of Raqqa, to start evaluating the work of all the municipality offices.
The Monitoring Committee was elected after the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held a conference in the middle of November, which included hundreds of Syrian personalities, according to official statements.
The members of the Monitoring Committee, Lorens al-Borsan and Bushra al-Jassem, met with the members and the head of the municipality on Friday, to study a mechanism to develop the work because the service sector is one of the most important sectors and has direct contact with the lives of the residents.
Al-Borsan described the work of the Municipality of Raqqa during the last period “as well organized but weak in acting.”
The Monitoring Committee held its first meeting on December 1, in the city of Hasakah, with the presence of General Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
