IDPs leave Hawl Camp for their homes in Syria’s Raqqa
HAWL, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a new batch of Syrian families left Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, returning to their homes in Raqqa and its countryside.
This is the seventh batch of its kind since the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) launched its initiative to empty the camp of displaced Syrians who want to return to their areas.
The batch included 105 families, with a total of 350 people, from Raqqa, Tabqa, and their countryside.
Sheikhmous Ahmed, head of the Office of Displaced Persons and Refugees in the Autonomous Administration, said, “Trips are continuing to all areas of the Autonomous Administration voluntarily, after submitting their personal documents to the camp administration.”
He added that the trips are continuing to all areas of the Autonomous Administration, pointing out that there are problems with regard to those from the areas controlled by Syrian government forces and the areas controlled by the armed opposition groups.
“The problem is in areas outside the Autonomous Administration areas – Syrian government-held areas – there are thousands of families who fear arrest and imprisonment, and in the areas of the so-called Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch [operations],” he pointed out.
“There are difficulties and challenges that the administration faces regarding those who want to leave the camp; there are large numbers without documents as a result of the battles and bombings that took place,” he added.
The administration provided facilities in this regard, and anyone who wants to leave can submit evidence from councils located in that area, according to Ahmed.
