Tribal sheikhs held Russia responsible for Turkish shelling in Syria’s Ain ISSA
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Tribal heads and sheikhs held on Thursday, the Russian posts in Ain Issa the responsibility for the recent repetitive Turkish shelling against civilians.
The tribal figures called on the international community to dismiss the Turkish forces out of northeastern Syria.
An official of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told North Press on November 24, that Russian forces kept watching to the shelling by Turkish forces and its backed armed opposition groups on the town of Ain Issa and the neighbouring villages north east Syria.
“Turkish aggression exceeded the international norms, the right to neighbourliness and attacked Syrian lands without any right,” sheikh Ramadan Rahal, Head of Ali Tribe, told North Press.
“Turks cunningly claim that they want to protect the Turkish national security, but we have not committed any attack whether against Turkey or any other country,” he added.
Turkish forces that “has occupied areas in northeastern Syria since the last year, demographically changed the area and displaced more than 300,000 of the indigenous people,” he stated.
The head of Ali Tribe held the international community and the human rights organizations the responsibility for rescuing the Syrians, whom “Erdogan displaced them from Afrin, Tel Abyad, and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain),” he added.
He also called on the necessity of “dismissing the Turkish forces from the Syrian territories, where they murdered, displaced, and terrorized its residents.”
Muhammad So’an, head of the Sabbkah Tribe, wondered about the Russian role in the Turkish attacks on Ain Issa, “are Russians here in order to protect Turks and mercenaries, or are they the grantor for the ceasefire?”
The head of Sabbkha Tribe said that the Syrian government, Turkey, and Russia agreed on targeting the civilians in Ain Issa.
People of northeastern Syria are not advocates of war and they did not attack any party, according to So’an.
He wished Russians to respect their promises and operate as a grantor to the ceasefire rather to be silence regarding the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories.
There are Syrian government posts and Russian base in the town of Ain Issa, where they have been stationed since they signed understandings with Syrian Democratic Forces followed the Turkish evasion on northeastern Syria 2019.
