Syrian government forces arrest anti-government militants in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Four men from the town of Kahil, western the town of Kark to the east of Syria’s Daraa. were arrested on Friday by Syrian government soldiers while they tried to pass through the check point
Daraa countryside has been witnessing an increased tension since the beginning of November including storming and arresting people from eastern Kark in addition to besieging Daraa Balad by the government forces.
The four men joined the Eighth Brigade of the Russian-backed Fifth Corps, a local source from Kark told North Press.
The government forces took the men to the Air Force Intelligence branch in Daraa city, the source added.
The detention angered the militants of the Eighth Brigade that is stationed in Busra al-Sham. So far the number of civilian and militants of the Eighth Brigade detained has reached eight from different parts of eastern countryside of Daraa, according to the source.
“The Syrian government forces increased on Saturday morning the military reinforcements on the entrances of the towns east and north eastern of the governorate against any potential reaction,” the source stated.
The detention took place in a “Series of continuous detentions against civil activists and defector military officials of anti-government groups,” the source said.
The government accuses some people of inciting the assassination against government military figures and leaders, southern Syria.
The government has recently sent more military reinforcements to Daraa coinciding with increasing numbers of avenging operations.
