Non-Syrian militants killed due to airstrike on east Syria

QAMISHLI (North Press) – Unidentified aircraft, likely to be Israeli, launched an air strike on Saturday, on Iranian sites in the Abu Kamal region, eastern Syria, killing militants of non-Syrian nationalities.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that it had documented the killing of 15 members of the Afghan and Iraqi nationalities, as a result of the airstrike against Iranian-backed members.

The Syrian Observatory indicated that the death toll is expected to rise due to the existence of some serious cases among the injured, in addition to reports on other dead.

Earlier on Saturday, Syrian media reported that unidentified warplanes had targeted a military site in eastern Syria with more than ten air strikes.

In September, several Iranian-backed militants were killed in airstrikes, most likely Israeli, on sites in eastern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Since the outbreak of the Syrian war, Israel carried out several airstrikes against Tehran-backed Hezbollah and Iranian forces supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad, as well as government forces.
