Civilian killed due to shooting in Syria’s eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – a civilian from the city of Hawajij in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Deir ez-Zor, lost his life due to shooting by unknown men, on Friday.

Local sources told North Press that Ahmed al-Ghanam was killed due to shooting by unidentified persons, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS).

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has witnessed recently an increase in ISIS cell activists, as a result the kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-led Global Coalition raised the pace of their security operations.

Two other civilians lost their lives due to shooting by unknown persons riding a motor bike, in the outskirt of Shuhail city in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The internal security forces (Asayish) raided the residence of a gang  practicing kidnapping and militarism in the town of Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and managed to release an abducted person, whose family was extorting 20,000$ in exchange for his release, Thursday.
