ISIS adopted assassination of officer of opposition groups in Syria’s Bab

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed on Thursday, its responsibility for the assassination of an officer of the Civil Police and Public Security in the city of Bab, east of Aleppo.

North Press reported on Wednesday, that Hussein Jabali, an official in the civil police of the Syrian opposition groups, was killed as a result of being targeted by unidentified armed men on a motorbike with several bullets.

ISIS mentioned, in a statement it published on the Telegram application channels, that its militants targeted the civil police officer with a pistol in the city of Bab and killed him.

The city of Bab located 30 km from the southern Turkish border. Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups have controlled Bab since 2017.

Jabali was an official in a security institution of the civil police before working in a police station in Bab city, according to the source.

ISIS announced that it had carried out a series of attacks in opposition areas, including the detonation of an explosive device that killed three members of the civilian police in Bab.

The opposition areas in northwestern Syria are witnessing a state of security chaos accompanied by frequent bombings, amid the inability of the police and the controlling factions to control security.
