134 new infections, two deaths from coronavirus recorded in Syria’s Autonomous Administration

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of two deaths and 134 new coronavirus infections on Sunday.

The official Facebook account of the AANES quoted Health Board co-chair Jiwan Mustafa as stating that the new infections were 61 men and 73 women.

The cases include 43 in Qamishli, 34 in Hasakah, 30 in Derik, 10 in Girke Lege, four in Jil Agha, three in Tirbespi, three in Derbasiya, three in the northern countryside of Aleppo, two in Tel Tamr, one in Rimelan, and one in Amuda.

Mustafa also announced the recovery of 25 cases.

This brings the number of coronavirus cases in the AANES regions to 4,738, in addition to 127 deaths and 732 recoveries.

The AANES imposed a ten-day partial lockdown on all areas under its control on Friday, which mandates the closure of all non-essential shops and prevents gatherings such as weddings and funerals.
