Notables of Shadaddi clans praise decision of Autonomous Administration to evacuate Syrians from Hawl Camp
SHADADDI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, tribal leaders in the city of Shadaddi, south of Hasakah, praised the decision of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to evacuate Syrian families from Hawl Camp.
Tribal leaders said the decision “enhances the unity of the region’s population.”
Munaf al-Raja, a notable of Fadil clan, told North Press, “We are so grateful for this good initiative, and we are thankful for the authorities’ response; this means that all the Syrians in northeastern Syria are united.”
On Monday, a new batch, which included 73 families consisting of 289 people from Deir ez-Zor and its countryside, left the camp, according to Muhammad Bashir, head of the relations office in Hawl Camp.
On Sunday, Bashir told North Press that many of the batches left the camp through tribal guarantees, and that the latest group left on Monday.
Officials in the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said in previous statements to North Press that their initiative to evacuate the Syrians from Hawl Camp came as a result of the desire of the residents, clans, and sheikhs of the region.
Ahmed Issa, one of the notables and clergymen in Shadaddi, said that they support the decision to evacuate Syrian families from Hawl Camp.
“We support and thank the decisions made by the Autonomous Administration for their aid to Syrian refugees, and this is a humanitarian decision,” Issa said.
He added that the return of these families to their areas means more peace, love, and coexistence.
The evacuation decision came as one of the recommendations of the tribal conference held in early May 2019 in the town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, under the auspices of the Syrian Democratic Council.
