Syrian Democratic Council holds symposium in Syria’s north of Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held on Sunday, a symposium in the city of Manbij, northern Syria, with the attendance of social and political figures.
The symposium started under the title “Towards a National Conference for the People of Jazira and the Euphrates”.
The symposium was attended by 150 figures of various political, cultural, tribal and religious actors in Manbij and its countryside.
At the opening of the symposium, the SDC co-chair, Amina Omar, noted to the importance of the intra-Syrian dialogue and its necessity to solve the Syrian crisis.
“The previous intra-Syrian dialogues always ended up with no results, due to the frequent external interventions that seek to achieve their interests,” Omar said.
“The Syrians must put an end to the external interventions to start a dialogue and a peaceful political solution between the conflicting parties,” Omar added.
The SDC symposium in Manbij comes within a series of seminars held by SDC in northern Syria, seeking to hold a comprehensive conference for the people of the Jazira and the Euphrates regions, according to Omar.
The symposium will address several agendas, such as the intra-Syrian dialogue, and the dialogue with the opposition, the regime, and the intra-Kurdish dialogue in addition to their reflection on the political solution in Syria.
Also, it will discuss the historical relations among the communities of the area, and their role in establishing the Autonomous Administration, and the mechanism for developing the participation and institutional work in the administration, according to those in charge of the symposium.
Last week, the SDC held a similar symposium in the city of Hasakah with the presence of representatives of the US State Department.
In a message addressed to the symposium’s office, the American delegation expressed its country’s support for the symposiums organized by SDC.
