Turkish patrol on M4 in Syria’s northern Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces conducted a patrol on the M4 Highway in the southern Idlib countryside on Tuesday, after deploying along the highway on Monday.

A local source told North Press that Turkish vehicles travelled on the M4 from Ternaba, headed towards the western Jisr Shughour countryside.

The Turkish patrol was scheduled be a joint patrol along with Russian forces, but the latter was absent for unknown reasons.

The source pointed out the intense Turkish deployment along the sides of the highway in conjunction with intensive flight of reconnaissance aircraft.

Meanwhile, Turkish forces prevented journalists there from filming the last five joint patrols on the M4, according to the journalists.

The last Russian-Turkish joint patrol was conducted on the M4 Highway on August 25, coming under fire from RPGs which damaged a Russian vehicle in south Idlib.
