Demonstrators in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor countryside protest against government for third consecutive week

DEIR EZ-EOR, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of IDPs from villages in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside protested for the third consecutive week on Friday.

A North Press correspondent reported that dozens of displaced people from seven villages made a demonstration in Ezbet and Maamel Roundabout to demand the liberation of their villages from the control of government forces and Iranian militias.

He pointed out that the majority of the participants were from the villages of Husayniyah, Salhiya, Hatla, Marat, Mazloum, Khasham, and Tabiya, which are under the control of government forces east of the Euphrates River.

The demonstrators raised banners against Iran and the Syrian government reading “Where is the Coalition in our demonstrations?!”

The same area had witnessed a demonstration over the past two Fridays, in which the displaced carried banners bearing slogans calling on the Coalition and Syrian Democratic Forces to retake their villages.
