Killed and Injured People due to Raids on De-escalation Zones

Government forces and Russian camps continued to escalate the aerial and land bombardment of the southern Idlib countryside, especially the city of Khan Shaykhun. For the past 24 hours, the city was subjected to shelling by more than /30/ double air strikes raids, which caused massive destruction inside the city’s neighborhoods. 

The reconnaissance aircraft did not leave at all. The city was targeted by a variety of rocket launchers and seven surface-to-surface missiles, most likely were by Smerch (a Russian rocket launcher).

However, the campaign extended to include the extending towns from Kafr Nabudah to Khan Shaykhun city (Kafr Nabudah, Qasabiyeh, Abdin, Kafr Ein, Madaya, Rakaya, Kafrsajna, Talas, Al-Sayyad, Kafr Zita, Al-Lataminah, Murak and Khan Shaykhun).

The villages of Jabal Zawiya were also targeted by surface-to-surface missiles, clusters rockets and air raids targeting the roads especially the entry and exit routes of the towns of Sheikh Mustafa, Maarat hroma , Kansafra, Kafr Nabl, Hazarin, Bara, oustskirts of Ihsim , Hass, Mseibin, Surrounding of Ariha, Taftanaz and Saraqib.

These raids resulted in death of five persons, including one child and several wounded civilians.

The intensified campaign was a result of several failed attempts by government forces, backed by Russian and Iranian forces, to advance on the Kafr Nabudah front.

The escalation comes in light of the deterioration of living conditions of the displaced people during Ramadan in accordance with the interruption of livelihood sources since these areas depend directly on agricultural resources.
