SDF destroy seven ferries of oil smuggling across Euphrates River

A military force of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has carried out a raid on the waterways of al-Shuhail village east of Deir ez-Zor.
According to North-Press reporter, a military convoy of 30 armored vehicles, raided on Wednesday night al-Shuhail waterway, and was able to destroy and seize several ferries which smuggle oil into the Syrian government’s other bank of the river.
A military source revealed to North-Press that SDF destroyed two ferries, and confiscated 5 other ferries dedicated to oil smuggling across the Euphrates Rive towards Syrian government-controlled areas.
As sounds of fire shots and explosions were heard during the raid, upon destroying the ferries by the SDF, the source added that Global Coalition fighter jets flew overhead the area, following the raid.
In another context, unidentified militants believed to be Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells, have detonated an explosive device nearby al-Rajab road in the town of al-Keshkia, causing no casualties.
Meanwhile, members of the SDF opened fire on an ISIS sleeper cell member, according to military sources. The targeting resulted in the injury of the ISIS militant as he was trying to fire at those forces, on the main road of Jdeidat Ageidat village, in the southeastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
While earlier on Monday, the SDF arrested a member of the Islamic State during a raid in the village of Tal Jabi in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, preceded by investigation processes, according to the official website of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Moreover, the SDF confirmed the seizure of quantities of light and medium weapons, in addition to explosive devices which were held by the “terrorist”, as they were prepared for terrorist attacks against civilians in the area.
While Counter-terrorism Units of the Internal Security Forces (HAT), in cooperation with the U.S. special forces, have captured four ISIS sleeper-cell members last Saturday midnight in the village of al-Jamous, in Soluk district, on the Syrian-Turkish borders, within the proposed security mechanism.
It is worth mentioning that several areas in north and eastern Syria, have witnessed bombings and terrorist attacks, which were carried out by detonation of booby-trapped vehicles and explosive devices, which resulted in civilian and military casualties, as some of these attacks were adopted by the Islamic State group (ISIS).
