The Syrian government war-planes carried out raids targeting Saraqeb and Maaret al-Nouman, killing and wounding dozens of people, coinciding with the escalation of clashes between the Syrian governmental forces and the armed opposition groups in eastern and southeastern Idlib countryside, after a calmness prevailed in the area at night due to bad weather conditions.
According to North-Press reporter, 11 people were killed and others were injured in the raids that targeted a popular market in Maarat al-Numan in southern Idlib countryside. Whereas a citizen was killed and others were wounded in a shelling targeted al-Hal market in Saraqeb, eastern Idlib countryside this morning. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today the escalation of the clashes, where the Syrian forces launched raids on the axes of the villages of Surug, Rasm al-Ward and Istablat in eastern Idlib countryside, which witnessed mutual control operations with the armed groups, during the past two days. The attack was accompanied by intensive shelling by artillery and rocket launchers that led to casualties on both sides, reaching nearly 100 persons from both sides during the recent operations in the past 48 hours.
The Syrian government war-planes also targeted areas in Rafeh, al-Halba and al-Haraki in eastern Maarat al-Numan countryside, and the village of Tal Kraisan in southeastern Idlib countryside, killing and wounding several civilians in the village. Meanwhile, the Russian fighter jets carried out raids on places in and around the town of Kafr Sijnah, south of Idlib.
