Resumption of ground and aerial bombardment amid renewed clashes in the de-escalation zones

Russian warplanes resumed their shelling of the de-escalation zones after a relative calmness that lasted during the last night hours, while clashes continue between the Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups in axes of contact-lines in southern Idlib.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Russian warplanes launched on Monday morning, several raids on areas in al-Kabenah axis in al-Akrad Mountain, in Latakia’s north-eastern countryside. While the Syrian government forces bombed areas in Kafr Sijna, Heish, Tahtaya and al-Tah in Idlib’s southern countryside, and also bombed Jazraya and Kafr Naha and Jamiat al-Kahraba in the town of Khan al-Asal in the western and southern countryside of Aleppo, according to pro-opposition social media websites. Where the ground shelling was limited to targeting between the Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups on the fronts of contact-lines in Idlib’s south-eastern countryside.

 

Yesterday, there were violent clashes, during which the Syrian government forces launched more than 380 rocket-propelled grenades, affecting areas of al-Hawash and al-Hawija and Beit al-Ras Bridge in al-Ghab plain, in Hama northwestern countryside , and the rural areas of Latakia, Kafr Sijna, Tawil al-Haleeb, Tahr, Maarat Harma, Um Jalal, al-Sarj, Tal al-Sheh al-Halba, Abu Habba, Marzita, al-Katiba al-Mahjoura, al-Ghassaniya, bedama, al-Najiya, al-Hamboushiya, al-Zeiniya, Heish and Tal al-Toqan in the southern, eastern and western countryside of Idlib.

 

Furthermore, the armed opposition groups targeted with mortar shells the positions of the Syrian government forces in the axis of Al-Mabaqir in Hama’s northwestern countryside, as the shelling affected the villages of al-Ruseif and al-Aziziya in the same countryside, killing a person and injuring others, including a child.
