ISIS announces its responsibility for Tabqah armed attack

A group of militants attacked this morning the Trade Directorate of the Economy Committee in the city of Tabqah with machine guns, causing the death of two of the directorate's guards, and a serious injury to a female employee of the directorate, she was subsequently transferred into the hospital.

The Combating Organized Crime Units of the Internal Security Forces cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident. As the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) announced later today its responsibility of the terrorist attack, in the context of what ISIS has called "The battle of revenge" for its killed leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi and his assistant Abu Hassan al-Muhajir.

These ISIS attacks come as part of its "general attrition" strategy, which was established by the former leader of the terrorist group several weeks before his death, under the title "battle of revenge for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abu al-Hasan al-Muhajir."
