Mystery wraps an explosion hits a prison of the opposition in northern Aleppo

An explosion rocked a prison in the region of Azaz, north of Aleppo, which is under the control of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, killing 8 detainees and injuring several others as a preliminary outcome.

There were conflicting reports about the explosion, as local media said that, a car exploded near a prison close to the village of Sijo in the countryside of the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo, while another source suggested that the explosion was a result of targeting by Global Coalition aircraft.  

The explosion destroyed the building completely of which the prison is controlled by "al-Jabha al-Shamiya" group, which is one of the "National Army" groups.

There are fears over the lives of a large number of detainees from Afrin region, as the same sources added that, "it is believed that the detainees who died in the explosion were the ones kidnapped from Afrin ."

Furthermore, The prison included prisoners of the Islamic State militants, in addition to a large number of Afrin people who were kidnapped by the groups of the "National Army".
