Agitation in Tal-Abyad amid civilian claims to account the killers of the taxi driver

The town of Tal-Abyad (Gre-Spi) has witnessed civilian protests by the remaining residents amid tensions prevailing in the town which lies in the northern countryside of Raqqa, along the borders with Turkey. The area, which is under the occupation of the Turkish military and its affiliated armed groups, has been agitating with tension prevailing along with demonstrations by dozens of residents at the municipal roundabout, demanding the accountability for the perpetrators of the murder of a young man.  

Ammar al-Haji is a young man who lost his life by some militants of the National Army, who intentionally murdered him after they tried to steal his car. A local source told North-Press that the young man “Ammar al-Haji”, who was working as a taxi driver in Tal-Abyad, had brought members of the so-called group Faylaq al-Majd of the National Army into the position they controlled in the village of Kendar. When they arrived, the militants tried to steal al-Haji’s car with his money, but he resisted them, that led them to kill him, according to the source. 

In the last month, news about the outbreak of armed conflict among the militants of Turkish-backed armed groups in Ras al-Ain following disputes related to the theft of areas by those armed groups.   

Also, the town of Suluk, which is located in the northern countryside of Raqqa, which is controlled by Turkish-backed armed groups, had witnessed on Wednesday a demonstration included dozens of residents. The demonstration roamed the streets of the town, during which the demonstrators demanded the execution of the car bomber in Suluk, which resulted in 3 deaths and 5 injuries.  

Several areas under the control of Turkish military have witnessed bombings that killed and injured dozens of people in the recent months.
