Ongoing detaining and kidnapping campaigns in Afrin by the Turkish backed armed groups

The Turkish backed militia of “Political Security" has launched detaining campaigns in the village of Dikiye of Rajo district in the Syrian-Kurdish region of Afrin, a number of the villagers, including a woman were detained on charges of formerly serving with the self-defense forces.

As special sources reported to North-Press that "Political Security" militants stormed the village of Dikiye last Monday, and arrested (Maryam Sami, Ali Hamo, Joan Hamo, Salah Bilal, Shaaban Hamo, Zaradasht Sami, Anas Bakr), whose fate is still unknown.

This comes within a major campaign launched by "Political Security" militia in a number of villages in Afrin region, where 3 local citizens were detained in Qara Kul of Bulbul district, while 6 local citizens from Hassan Dera village in the aforementioned district were also detained, since early of this month at the hands of the Turkish backed Political Security militia.

 

The operations of kidnapping local civilians continue, accompanied by torture, insults and direct or under torture killing, with the aim of intimidating the remaining Kurdish civilians in Afrin and pushing them to leave their region, to complete the scheme of systematic demographic change, while the Turkish-backed armed groups demand the families of the kidnapped civilians of millions of Syrian pounds for their release.

Furthermore, "Syrians for Truth and Justice" organization has documented the detention of at least 506 Syrian-Kurdish civilians from Afrin region, including 8 underage children and 30 women during the second half of 2019.
