Syrian government loyalists intercept US patrol, throw stones in Tel Tamr

On Thursday, pro-Syrian government local residents intercepted two US armored vehicles that were chasing a Russian military police patrol on the M4 highway near the town of Tel Tamr. 

Russian forces conducted a regular patrol on the M4 highway, starting from the al-Mabaqer station north of the town of Tel Tamr, which have acted as their headquarters since December after the Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria in October last year.  

Two US armored vehicles chased the Russian patrol when the latter passed it in the village of Ghaibish west of the town of Tel Tamr. With the arrival of the two US armored vehicles to the village of al-Dashisha 10 km west of the town, the pro-Syrian government villagers, most of whom were children, intercepted them and threw stones at them in an attempt to block their progress, but they continued moving.

A private military source accompanying the US forces told North-Press that Russia is inciting the local residents against US forces with the help of Syrian government forces deployed on the front in the countryside of the town of Tel Tamr.  

Recently, scenes of intercepting US patrols have been repeated by local residents and members of Syrian government forces in the countryside of the town of Tel Tamr, which often forced US forces to move back to their headquarters.    

Lately, there have also been several incidents of interception between US and Russian forces on the M4 highway, and in some vital oil areas near the town of Remailan, east of the city of Qamishli.
