American patrol pursues Russian patrol in Syria’s Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – Russian military police conducted a patrol with five armored vehicles in Derik, northeast Syria, on Thursday.

 

Local sources from Ain Tawil village, south of Derik, told North Press that an American patrol which was pursuing a Russian patrol travelled through the village and headed towards Sheker Khaj village.

 

Sources from Robarya village, to the south of Derik, confirmed that US and Russian patrols passed by the agricultural airport (a helipad for the US-led Global Coalition) and headed towards Safan Dam.

 

After the American patrol interrupted the Russian patrol, it stopped near Safan Dam until two Russian helicopters arrived in order to accompany the patrol towards Qamishli city.
