More than one autonomy should be formed in Syria, and a solution should be found by uniting economists – Syrian economist

There are several reasons for the sudden rise of the dollar, including the absence of a strategic economic plan for the Syrian government, and Turkish interventions in Syria, which affected the Syrian economy significantly, while it's found that the solution requires a mindful government to resolve and consolidate economic and intellectual power, create a plan that unites Syria's economists, Syrian economist, Dr. Yasser Karim told North-Press adding that he supports the trend of the political autonomy for each Syrian region.
Impacts of regional degradation
Dr. Karim stressed that the deterioration of the political, economic and banking reality in Lebanon and Iraq, had a significant impact on the Syrian economy, and the failure to give private funds from the Bank of Lebanon, led to the weakening of the Syrian pound (Lira) and the Lebanese lira as well. Dr. Karim said that a clear plan for the Syrian government and economic security must be found, for the return of venture and equity investments, and that there is a government aware of a solution that combines economic and intellectual strength, in all ways to find a joint plan that unites the economists in Syria.
The Syrian economist pointed out that the problem is not only the responsibility of the government, but economists, farmers, traders, industrialists and the tourism sector should take their responsibilities for the deterioration, as the Syrian government is not able to find a solution to this problem.
'Fivefold salary'
The Syrian economist expressed his regret for the employees and workers who are receiving their salaries in Syrian pounds, saying: "The salary rate has become under $50 per month, as it's difficult to live by dealing with the Syrian pound, and there is no country in the world that lives on less than $50 a day, and this is impossible.” He added that the purchase of goods in dollars by traders, and the selling in Syrian pounds, has a significant impact on the citizen and the traders.
Dr. Karim said that raising the salaries can solve the crisis, but "the government cannot raise the salary to fivefold, and if it not raised, it would remain illusory, and can only be resolved by going back to the source of the crisis and make an economic improvement.”
Self-administrations of the regions
Syrian economist Dr. Yasser Karim talked about self-administration, saying that he agrees to the existence of political administration for each region,” as the administration is not political, military nor economic, and that is why the Syrian government should allow autonomous administrations to manage its areas," he said stressing that: “There is only one administration and one military security in the end."
Dr. Yasser Karim concluded by saying that "the law in Syria allows the existence of local administrations consistent with the specificity of the regions, governorates and towns, provided that there is no state of political, economic and security chaos.”
