Six new infections with coronavirus in north Aleppo, Syria

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced on Wednesday six new infections with coronavirus in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The official Facebook of the AANES reported Health Board  co-chair Dr. Jiwan Mustafa’s confirmation about the registration of six new cases of the virus.

AANES announced on Tuesday the registration of 19 cases of the virus in its regions, as well as two deaths, one in the Jazira region and the other in the city of Raqqa.

With these new cases, the toll of the infection in AANES rises to 144, in addition to seven deaths and ten recoveries.

The Kurdish Red Crescent in the northern countryside of Aleppo and the Human Rights Organization in Afrin issued a joint statement on Monday where they warned about a health catastrophe in the region amid the absence of the governmental and international support, and the lack of aid by international health organizations.              

There are five camps for Afrin IDPs in addition to dozens of deserted villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where Afrin's people took refuge after being displaced by the Turkish army and its affiliated Syrian armed opposition groups’ invasion of the region more than two years ago.
