Crisis management team announces recovery of coronavirus case and lifting of quarantine in Hasakah neighborhood

On Tuesday, the Crisis Management Team in the Jazira region of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced that the individual infected coronavirus in Hasakah city’s al-Omran neighborhood has recovered, and that the quarantine has been lifted from the neighborhood fourteen days after its start.
This came in a statement read at a press conference by members of the team in which they announced that all of the lockdown decisions issued by the Executive Council for North and East Syria now apply to the city of Hasakah in the same way they apply to other cities.
"The threat of coronavirus continues, and the team makes decisions according to necessity and the circumstances that the region is going through," said Talaat Younis, co-chair of the Executive Council in the Jazira region, in a special statement to North-Press.
He added that the hours allowed for going out came due to the need for people to work, especially as "the region is agricultural, and the approach of the harvest season requires more movement.”
Younis added that the population should take preventive measures and adhere to health measures and physical distancing to prevent the spread of the virus due the continued risk of its outbreak.
Younis also pointed out that the Syrian government is still uncooperative and has not responded to the Autonomous Administration’s demand to restrict the arrival of travelers from Damascus through Qamishli International Airport.
Yunus also noted that "the administration’s measures and awareness of the population contributed to the prevention of the spread of coronavirus in northeastern Syria," calling for continued adherence to preventative health measures.
Raperin Hassan, co-chair of the Health Authority in the Jazira Region, stated at the press conference that the number of quarantined individuals at all centers in Jazira has reached 70, and that the number is constantly changing and due to the arrival of travelers from Damascus through the airport. She added that to date, the administration has conducted 70 PCR tests on suspected cases of coronavirus infection.
