Re-opening two Manbij crossing point for movement of goods after more than a month of closure

More than a month after Um-Jalud and Aoun al-Dadat crossing points, north of Manbij, was closed to the traffic of goods, food and vegetables to Manbij, it returned to work on Saturday.

Abdo Haj Mustafa, the co-chair of the Interior Committee in the city of Manbij told North-Press that several cars loaded with vegetables and foodstuffs entered the city of Manbij this morning via Um-Jalud and Aoun al-Dadat crossing points.

Haj Mustafa explained that the Civil Democratic Administration in Manbij had taken many preventative measures with the beginning of goods entering the city of Manbij, such as sterilizing cars coming from the regions of the opposition groups, in addition to conducting examinations of all car drivers.

Armed opposition groups in the Euphrates Shield area had closed Aoun al-Dadat and Um-Jalud crossings points on March 13, to goods entering the city of Manbij, as part of measures to counter the spread of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Aoun al-Dadat and Um-Jalud crossings points are two of the most important commercial crossing points between the city of Manbij and Jarablus in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, where food, vegetables, and other goods are imported to the city of Manbij.
