Opening of Child Medical Care Center in Qamishli

The "Child Medical Care Center" was opened in Qamishli, to be concerned with providing health services related to children's diseases. Dr. Muhammad Abdulhamid, the director of the "Child Medical Care Center" has explained that the center will take care of the child's health services, noting that it does not amount to being a hospital, due to the lack of a surgical department.
Dr. Abdulhamid indicated that the center will provide three new services, along with the medical services for children, which are treating malnutrition diseases the children are exposed to, according to new programs approved by the World Health Organization, as those programs are different from the followed old traditional methods, he said.
Moreover, the center will also work according to those in charge of it, to encourage mothers to breastfeed through several follow-up sessions with the mother to help her breastfeeding, which in turn will help reduce the financial burden of the children, according to the director of the center.
Dr. Muhammad Abdulhamid indicated that the Center includes Department of Burns and Treatment, as well as cardiac care, incubators, dormitory and treatment of respiratory diseases of children. He confirmed that the center will provide medical services for the IDP children, free of charge, while 25% for the rest of the children in al-Jazira region will be deducted.
