A new convoy of humanitarian aid arrived yesterday, on Tuesday, from Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to the north-eastern Syria.
Diyan Jaafar, a supervisor of the convoy from "Barzani Foundation" told North-Press that, this is the sixth convoy of the aid provided by Barzani Charitable Foundation in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent.
The convoy consisted of 40 large trucks, which includes tents, mattresses, clothes and water filters, as the number of trucks which have been provided by the foundation so far reached 95 trucks, as Dian Jaafar explained.
Jaafar pointed that the convoy includes 1,700 tents, 9,000 sleeping sponges, 2,600 water filters, and 600 boxes of winter clothes for children and men, as they are preparing this aid based on a list provided by the Kurdish Red Crescent for the needs of the IDPs, as he said.
Jaafar stressed they are continuing to provide aid, as there will be a new convoy next week to meet the needs of the IDPs in the camps.
For his part, the administrative director of the Kurdish Red Crescent, Newroz Khalaf told North Press that, this aid will be provided to the IDPs in Washo-kani camp in Hasakah, where there are thousands of displaced people in the camp, and the number is increasing, as the suffering increases as well, as she stated.
Khalaf indicated the camp needs more aid, especially heating, in addition to the blankets due to the advent of winter time.
It is noteworthy that more than 350 thousands people have been displaced from the areas of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), Tal Abyad (Gre Spi) and other various areas in north-eastern Syria due to the Turkish military and its armed groups’ invasion in the region.
