A Syrian party protests in front of the UN building against the exclusion of Autonomous Administration from drafting the constitution

Democratic Modernity Party in Syria, has organized a protest against the exclusion of Autonomous Administration from the process of drafting the new Syrian constitution, in front of the United Nations building, on Saturday in the city of Qamishli.
As a group of parties of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) have participated in the protest, while raising banners saying: “A constitution drafted by foreign hands divide the country.”

Participation is a guarantee
In a statement made by the party’s vice-president Maher al-Tamran to the media, calling on the United Nations to “shoulder its responsibilities in accordance with international law” and called for the involvement of all segments of the Syrian society in the process of drafting the constitution.
“Those who try to exclude us, aim at the return of destruction and tyrany,” the statement said.
The statement stressed the stance of the Democratic Modernity Party, and all parties of the democratic Autonomous Administration, towards the process of drafting the constitution, saying: “We refuse and condemn the exclusion of our representatives from the process of drafting the constitution under pressure by Turkish occupation.”
It is worth mentioning that the Democratic Modernity Party was founded in 2001, and began its actual activity in 2014, as a party of the SDC, and headed by Firas Kassas.
