Al-Jazira schools receive about a quarter of a million students for the new school year

According to the records of the Education Authority in al-Jazira region (an administrative division comprising Hasakah and Qamishli), the schools of the Autonomous Administration have received 230,489 pupils and students for the new school year.
Including 200,901 pupils at the primary level, 24,820 students at the preparatory level, and 4,768 students at the second level.
On Sunday 15th of September, 2,225 schools have opened their doors for the students of the three educational levels in al-Jazira region, the number of the new teachers who were appointed in the new school year has reached 19,189 teachers, according to the Education Authority.
“The Education Authority has distributed 2,5 million books for the schools, while the sixth grade was included to the secondary level”, according to a special statement from the deputy of the co-chairman of the Education Authority Farida Ibrahim to North-Press.
Teachers in the region’s schools in the new school year are distributed as follows:
About 9,400  teachers will teach in schools in the Canton of Qamishlo (administrative division comprising Qamishli, Derik, Amuda, Tirbe Spi, Tal Hamis, Tal Berak, Girkê legê, Tal Kojar, Jal Agha).
In addition, about 9,221 teachers will teach in Hasakah (an administrative division comprising the city of Hasakah, Darbasiyah, Sere-Kanyie, Tal Tamr, al-Shadadi, al-Houl, Zarkan).
Samira al-Omari, a mathematics teacher for the secondary level at the school of Abd al-Masih Denho in Qamishli explained that they had received a summer course according to the specialization of each teacher in order to develop their scientific level.
The Education Authority of the Autonomous Administration in the northeast of Syria has set on 28 August, in a press conference in the town of Ein Issa, northeastern Syria, the start date for the 2020-2019 school year, where they set the start of the administrative work on September 2, while students were scheduled to begin on September 15, while the school year ends on May 28, 2020.
