A delegation of Russian officers from the Russian military base of Hmeimim in Latakia countryside along with some Syrian army officers visited some camps of Afrin’s internally displaced people in the northern countryside of Aleppo yesterday.
The Russian-Syrian joint military delegation met with members of the administration of the camps of (Sardam – Afrin – Berxwedan), Idris Ibrahim the member in Sardam camp administration, said that the talks focused on the number of tents and families, medicines and fuel, pointing out that these visits “ have become as a kind of routine, where they only film while asking questions about the camp’s IDPs”.
Ibrahim pointed out that they haven’t received any responses to their requests by the visiting delegations so far.
Some sources close to the delegation confirmed that the delegation had distributed about 3,000 food baskets to the indigenous people of the villages of Um al-Hosh and Fafin.
Last year, the delegation visited Berxwedan camp of Afrin IDPs in order to tour the camp, but the residents of the camp threw them with stones, accusing Russia of “complicity” with Turkey in the “occupation of Afrin”.
